Spring Zoo Camp
What could be more fun during spring break holiday than hanging out
with the animals? Spring is a great time to visit the Zoo and learn
what being a naturalist is all about. These young explorers will use
their imaginations and learn skills to find animal homes, track
animals and discover how plants and animals survive in the natural
world. These age-appropriate, engaging, down-in-the-dirt activities
provide a wonderful foundation for future learning and experience in

Ages 6-12. March 29 – April 3; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Fee is $100/week per child ($120 out-of-parish)
Early drop off 7:30 a.m. and late pick up until 5:30 p.m. no

Zippity Zoo Fest
BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo will hold its annual spring festival, Zippity
Zoo Fest on Saturday, March 27, and Sunday, March 28 from 9:30 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Celebrate the Zoo’s 40th Anniversary with a children’s
village, education stations, a food court and animal encounters.

Spring Green at the Zoo
Join us March 13 as we celebrate being green. Learn what you can do
to help wild animals and wild places at special amphitheatre
programs. Games and crafts will also be available for the children.

Zoo & Me Mornings
Held the second Tuesday of every month, this program is designed for
3 to 6 year-old-children accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Programs are 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and will incorporate many
exciting activities including a train ride, animal encounters, art
projects, “Zooper” snacks and many other hands-on projects that you
and your child can enjoy together. $18/child with one parent or
guardian. $30/2 children with one parent or guardian. March 9 theme:

Safari Night
Have you ever wondered what the Zoo is like at night? Safari Night
programs offer insight into the night-life of the Zoo. Bring your
sleeping bag, lots of curiosity and discover the Zoo at night!
Safari Nights are held every Friday and Saturday night. We can
accommodate up to 30 persons. Please have at least two adults for
every 10 children. Participants arrive at 6:30 p.m. Your Safari
Guide will lead your group on walking tours of different parts of
the Zoo. You'll learn all about the Zoo’s animals through hands-on
activities and animal encounters. All participants receive a Safari
Night T-shirt. Your adventure ends at 9:30 a.m. the next morning,
after you enjoy a continental breakfast and the experience of
serving breakfast to a Zoo animal! Cost: $420 for 1-15 people; over

Discover the animal kingdom at BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo, including
elephants, giraffes, rhinos and alligators. Visitors can enjoy the
new Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, featuring the Zoo’s
Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as
the Safari Playground, the Otter Pond, our exhibit featuring a
replicated fishing cabin with underwater viewing of the otters,
L'aquarium de Louisiane, Parrot Paradise and KidsZoo. Adults and
children can ride the Cypress Bayou Railroad on a scenic ride
through the unique Louisiana habitat that surrounds the core Zoo.
The Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your
assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing
excellent care for animals, a great experience for you and a better
future for all living things.
