Many St. Michael High School seniors were honored at the
recent awards and graduation ceremonies. The class, as a whole, was
offered more than $7.9 million in college scholarships. Leading the
class was valedictorian and National Merit Commended Student, Hunter
Rouillier. Lauren Peck is the 2010 St. Michael High School salutatorian.
Senior Alex Holeman was a National Merit Finalist.
Honored as the St. Michael High School Student of the Year was Gabriel
Fuselier. Arielle Sutton received the St. Michael DAR award as well as
the Daughters of the American Revolution's coveted Good Citizen Award.
Sutton was also an American Legion Award winner along with Christopher
Simoneaux. The Mother Theresa Awards went to Adrienne Renfrow and Robbie
Aiken, while Trey Gantt and Chelsea Weaver won the Christian Character
awards. Jessica Lee was the recipient of the Kiwanis Courtesy Award.
Jeanne Kenney and Jeremy Meyers were the National Scholar Athlete
Recipients. They are two of the eleven St. Michael High School senior
athletes that were offered scholarships to play their sport(s) on the
collegiate level. Kenney will play basketball at LSU, and Meyers is
attending Southeastern Louisiana University to play football in the
fall.
Finally, St. Michael High School is a LSU Golden Achievement Award
winner for the 3rd year in a row. This is based on college credit hours
earned by the senior class during Spring Testing at LSU, making St.
Michael a top 20 Louisiana high school Twenty-three of our seniors
earned a total of 361 college credit hours through testing. |
