Two students under the direction of
Kris Cangelosi, director of the Cangelosi Dance Project, Blane Mader and
Bre Ann Berger have earned full scholarships to prestigious dance
schools this summer. Blane Mader who studies classical ballet six days a
week under Cangelosi received a full scholarship to the American Ballet
Theatre in New York City for six weeks and two weeks in California. Bre
Ann Berger received a full scholarship to Giordano Dance Centre in
Chicago where she was selected by Nan Giordano at the Contemporary Dance
South Conference held in September 2007 at the Manship produced by
Cangelosi Dance Project. She will study for six weeks in the Chicago
area under Giordano technique. Both students study an intensive
technique and performance schedule under the Cangelosi Dance Project and
have earned additional scholarships this season. Mader will continue to
study classical ballet in hopes of being invited by a national
recognized ballet company and Berger will continue to study technique in
classical and contemporary in hopes of a scholarship to a national
recognized dance program by a University of
renowned dance company.
Additional student who have studied and performed under Cangelosi in the
last years that have been recognized for their talents and continued
their studies are Clare Cook, Angi Smith, Victoria Pourciau, Annie
Jones, Emily Cook, Erin Monteleone, and several other students who are
in local theatre productions this summer in the Louisiana area.
